Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery
I spent the spring of 2024 working at Hyrax Films while finishing my master’s degree in Film and Media Production at American University. While at Hyrax I helped the team prepare Money Electric for its final clearance processes, which included researching, sourcing, and cataloging archival footage. The film aired on HBO in October 2024.
Reviving the Forgotten River
The Anacostia River, nicknamed “DC’s forgotten river,” is an infamously polluted tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. But after years of work by local activists, progress toward the river’s restoration is being made – so much so that the Anacostia may soon be swimmable for the first time in over half a century.
In addition to serving as a co-producer and videographer on this project, I led on sourcing archival footage and contributed to the film’s script and graphic design. The film aired on Maryland Public Television in April 2024 and is available to stream on PBS.
New Era, New Parents
Two years after transitioning to fully remote jobs, a 30-something couple is on the precipice of a major life change: becoming first-time parents. Beth and Kevin discuss how their status as remote workers influenced their decision to start a family.
I was responsible for the film’s concept development and its execution, including filming (excluding the interview segment) and editing the project. The film was featured in the 2023 Docs in Progress Community Stories Film Festival.
Why Debt Matters
Given that debt can be an incredibly inaccessible topic for many, I wanted to create a segment that could explain, in simple terms, why public debt matters for everyone.
I was responsible for the concept and led on the production of this segment, which aired during the 2021 World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings.
How Tax and Spending Policies Can Reduce Poverty and Inequality
I was solely responsible for the production of this video, excluding the script.
